Housebuilder moves to new home

One of the UK’s largest housebuilders is moving its regional headquarters to Kings Hill to provide greater accessibility to its other offices and an improved environment for staff.

Bovis Homes, which employs more than 1,200 staff and has a revenue in excess of £1billion, is moving from New Ash Green near Brands Hatch. The company builds a wide range of properties, from apartments and starter homes to six-bedroom family houses.

“We are excited to be moving to Kings Hill, which will put us in the heart of our operations and make travelling between our sales centres and regional offices easier,” said Steve Jones, managing director for the South East region.

“The wellbeing of our staff is of great importance and with its wide range of retail and leisure facilities Kings Hill fits the bill perfectly. The staff are looking forward to working in contemporary, bright, open-plan offices and we believe will benefit from this modern work environment.

“It will also help with cross-departmental working, and will support good communications and team work. We also have connections with several of the other businesses already located at Kings Hill”

Around 120 staff will be moving into the new office, which will become the headquarters for the housebuilder’s South East region and will also be home to some of the group functions including payroll, company secretariat and group technical.

Caroline Binns of Kings Hill developer Liberty Property Trust said that almost without exception the amenities and quality of the landscaping are major factors in a company’s decision to move to Kings Hill.

“A business’ best asset is its staff and numerous studies have shown that the more pleasant the environment is, the more beneficial it is to productivity which is why we put such emphasis on landscaping and the provision of shops, eateries and leisure amenities. We are delighted Bovis Homes is joining us.”

As well as property related businesses, Kings Hill has a varied and diverse tenant mix from many sectors including financial services, oil, food, automotive, professional services and communications.
