National Association of Industrial and Office Properties 2008 Developer of the Year Award
The National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), the leading trade association for developers, owners, investors and other professionals in industrial, office and mixed-use commercial real estate, announced that Liberty Property Trust is the winner of NAIOP’s coveted Developer of the Year award. "Liberty Property Trust is acknowledged throughout the industry for its exceptional development and commitment to sustainability, and it is NAIOP’s privilege to recognize this company for its contributions to both the real estate development community and NAIOP," said Thomas J. Bisacquino, NAIOP president.

CoreNet Global's 2008 Sustainability Leadership Award for Design & Development
CoreNet Global, one of the world’s leading professional associations for corporate real estate executives serving multinational companies from the Fortune and Global 1000 in Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America and North America, in partnership with the American Institute of Architects and the International Interior Design Association selected Liberty’s JohnsonDiversey warehouse as one of three 2008 winners. "This year’s nominations were a testament to the level of seriousness corporations and their service providers are taking sustainable design and development. Going beyond standard LEED™ certification, this year’s winners asserted the gravity of scientific innovation and strategic thinking behind their corporate strategies. ‘What makes this year’s nominees so exciting is that sustainability has truly become part of their DNA’ commented CoreNet Global Chairman David Harris.

NAIOP’s 2007 Green Development Award
The National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), the nation’s leading organization representing the interests of commercial real estate executives engaged in industrial, office and mixed-use development, announced that it has selected two development companies as the recipients of its annual Green Development Award: Georgetown Company and Liberty Property Trust. When Liberty Property Trust broke ground on the $21 million warehouse and distribution center for JohnsonDiversey Inc. in Sturtevant, Wisconsin, the developer created the largest green distribution center in the country. At 552,000 square feet with options to expand up to 830,000 during the 10 year lease, the building may become the largest warehouse in the nation to be LEED certified. A LEED Gold certification is expected in the coming months.

The United States Green Building Council’s 2006 LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Corporate Leadership Award
"The USGBC recognizes outstanding leaders in green building who demonstrate exceptional vision, leadership and commitment to the evolution of green building design and construction with their Leadership Awards, presented annually. Liberty is committed to using LEED to create more environmentally responsible office buildings, distribution centers, warehouses and interiors throughout the U.S. and United Kingdom. Internally, Liberty has greened operations throughout their more than twenty regional offices in the U.S. and U.K., has established a green training program for their entire Property Management Staff and has implemented a Green Property Management guide for property managers and building technicians."

Liberty’s Leadership in LEED development:

  • Developed the first developer-owned Platinum LEED-CS(Core and Shell) building in the world, One Crescent Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA
  • Built the first speculative warehouse registered for LEED Core and Shell certification in the U.S. and the first in the nation to earn LEED Silver certification.
  • Developed the largest LEED registered distribution facility in the U.S. at 552,000 square feet, the JohnsonDiversey Inc. warehouse in Sturtevant, WI which earned Gold certification
  • Developed the nation's tallest LEED registered building, Comcast Center, Philadelphia, PA
  • Developed the first LEED certified building in Jacksonville, FL, the PHH Mortgage building
  • Built the first LEED certified building in Scottsdale, AZ, for the Vanguard Group which earned Gold Certification
  • Developed the first LEED certified building in the Lehigh Valley, PA region, The Plaza at PPL Center, which earned Gold certification
  • Developed the first LEED certified building in Chesapeake, VA, 1317 Executive Boulevard, a Class A office earning Silver certification.
  • Developed the first office building designed to achieve LEED Core and Shell certification in Tampa, FL, at 4631 Woodland Corporate Center Boulevard
  • Developed the first speculative, office building designed to achieve LEED certification in the Twin Cities region, 7625 Smetana Lane, Eden Prairie, MN which earned Gold certification
  • Developed the first LEED registered industrial building in Houston, TX, Central Green 9 designed to achieve LEED Silver certification
  • Developed the first LEED registered warehouse in Lehigh Valley, PA at 920,400 square feet.
